A New River Health medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health site opened in the former Valley Elementary School in 2001. The school, refurbished into city offices and space for services such as Starting Points, was renamed GATEWAY Smithers to signify site location as the welcome center into Fayette County from Kanawha County.
Serving the community and Valley PreK-8 students and staff, New River Health Smithers is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Accessible and convenient, a patient may receive medical and dental care, and pick up prescriptions in one visit! Mental health care is also available by appointment.
Parents and guardians of school students may receive care for their children by completing a consent form, which is available at the site, at the school, or electronically by clicking this link.
