At New River Health our roots are based in caring for coal miners and their families, but our services are unlimited in the realm of respiratory therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation and Black Lung. Whether you or a loved one suffers from COPD, Black Lung or asthma, or are recovering from heart or lung procedures, our respiratory therapists will lead you to better breathing, and a more active lifestyle.

Who doesn’t experience a stiff neck every once in a while? At NRH our chiropractic service can work with you and your provider(s) to help with migraines, sports injuries, accidents, and more. Patients may be any age, and most appointments are short sessions. Pregnant women are also welcome patients.

By following a schedule of regular annual and semi-annual visits, you may prevent serious health issues. As our providers observe various health metrics, such as weight, blood pressure, heart and lungs, we may be able to forecast a preventable challenge or chronic illness. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Women’s Health

Women’s Health

Too often, women put their health care aside in order to care for others. NRH works to help women keep healthy through every stage of life, regardless of the challenge. During pregnancy, NRH offers prenatal care including a consulting Obstetrician. After the baby is born, they are a welcomed patient through their life. NRH sponsors MIHOW/Parents As Teachers, in which trained parent/child health educators do home visits and connect family to needed resources at no charge. Women’s health screenings are scheduled throughout their lives on-site with medical and ancillary services, and by coordinating referrals for exams such as mammograms.

School Based Health

School Based Health

NRH staff members can be located within or nearby schools in Fayette, Nicholas, and Raleigh Counties. These locations offer medical, dental, and behavioral health services to students during the school day for no charge.
